The Dead of Night is a Halloween-themed item that kills any Phantom within a 30 block radius of the player wielding it.

Obtaining

Event

The Dead of Night can only be obtained during ongoing Halloween events, purchased from Wilma Itch for 16 Soul of the Damned and 64 Hemoglobin.

Competition

A Strange variant can also be rewarded to the player for ending up first in the Hemoglobin Collection Competition.

Usage

To use the Dead of Night, right click while sneaking to kill every Phantom within a 30 block radius. This item has a two and a half minute cooldown.

A high pitched Wither spawning sound effect is played only for the user when the item is used.

Unlike most weapons, the Dead of Night is not a viable melee weapon, meaning that you will not do any significant damage using it directly on enemies.

Trivia

• The name Dead of Night came from the fact that Phantoms are deadly creatures that only appear during the night when a player has not slept for three in-game days or more.
