The Beginning

The Donator Crate Key is a retired tool item that allowed players to uncrate a donator-only item such as particle styles, effects or pets.

When donating, the player used to receive one Donator Crate Key per 5 Dollar donation.

To use a Donator Crate Key, the player was able to right click on the Donator Crate, which has also since been retired.

June 23, 2023	Season 3	1.20.1	The Donator Crate Key was removed and replaced with the Supporter Points system to remove the gambling aspect.

Crate keys are the only custom items that don't utilize our current custom items plugin, as it is part of a special crates plugin.
The item sprite is taken from Terraria; a game made by Re-Logic that came out in 2011, often unfairly called "2D Minecraft".
The donator crate key was removed due to the negative nature around pay2win and gambling. While the HGG SMP has never offered pay2win features, gambling was deemed to be innapropriate as well albeit the realization was a bit late.
